From Custer to the world

Fall is just around the corner

Jeannie and I are looking forward to the next few weeks. We have plans to meet expat friends which always is a pleasure.

The Fall is a season of harvest, gathering in the fruit of our labors. When we think of people it is a joy to hear from you and to know that those we have met over the years are part of the 'fruit of our labors'.

Going back to 1971 when we first met a young couple who have stood with us over these years; call to get caught up. They farm in upstate Illinois. I get calls from the tractor and emails which keep us up-to-date on their life's happenings.

Another couple we met in 2001 while serving as expats; their lives and ours became wonderfully inter-twined. We get emails with pictures of their new home in Scotland and messages of encouragement.

An editor with a major magazine is helping with putting our thoughts of our years of service together; she and her husband were students we worked with 37 years ago.

The stories could go on and on when we think of the years we have engaged in the lives of those who are part of the great harvest we now know.

If you have a personal 'fruits of your labors' accounts please send them to us; we would love to hear your stories of rejoicing.

Warm regards,

Paul and Jeannie McKean
